STAUNTON – Bruce Toliver Mowry, 67, husband of Babs Beverley Mowry, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at his residence.
He was born on October 5, 1954 in Staunton to the late Charles Edward and Margaret Helen (Coiner) Mowry.
He was retired as a juvenile probation officer having served Waynesboro for over 30 years.
He loved going to his cabin in the mountains. He thoroughly enjoyed bear hunting with his dogs and spending time with his hunting buddy, Daniel. He was passionate about steering teens in the right direction. Mr. Mowry was also a former corrections officer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Daniel E. Mowry (Sarah) of Waynesboro; a special friend, Justin Showalter; an aunt, Thelma DePriest of Staunton; a sister, Sharon M. Gilbert (Mike S.) of Verona; and a number of cousins.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 at Edward Avenue Baptist Church in Waynesboro by Pastor Gary May.
