Thomas R. Harris

Thomas Roger Harris, 76, husband of Carol Kellison Harris, of Churchville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his residence.

He was born January 25, 1945 in Churchville, a son of the late Joseph Edward and Ruby (Smith) Harris.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by VDOT as a mechanic with 30 years of service.

Thomas attended Jerusalem Chapel Church. He loved hunting, spending time with his family, and enjoying his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, family members include a son, Thomas F. Harris and significant other, Angel Coffman; a daughter, Amy N. Patterson and son-in-law, Chad; two brothers, Robert Harris and Marty Harris; two sisters, Betty Bosserman and Debra Horetsky; four grandchildren, Zachary Harris, Hayley Harris, Sadie Patterson, and Violet Patterson; an aunt; special friend, Tammy Arbogast; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Norman Harris and a sister, Nellie Cole.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 in Jerusalem Chapel Church by the Revs. Denny Sites and George Etling. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
