Ada V. Leitch

February 15, 2024, our beautiful mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Ada V. “Ginger” Leitch went to be with the Lord. She was born on April 24, 1940, to Samuel Wade Curry and Catherine Marie Dodd Curry.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Leon Leitch, Sr.; her daughter, Karen; her brother, Roy Leon Berry; her sisters, Linda Louise Berry Goins, and Judy Lee Berry Botkin; her nephew, Billy Beam; and her stepson, Ralph Leitch, Jr.

She leaves behind her son, Ronnie Botkin; her daughters, Betty Jo Botkin Blackford, Dana Kay Botkin, and Katherine Ann Botkin Lyle and her husband, Jeff.  Among those mourning her departure are Ginger's siblings: her sisters, Lorraine, Nancy Faye Curry and her wife, Debbie Hargus, and Katherine Irene Beam and her husband, Jim; her brothers, Elwood Bartlett and his wife, Brenda and Thomas Franklin Curry and his wife, Glenda; and her sister-in-law, Sherri Berry.

Additionally, she is remembered by her stepchildren: Ray Douglas Leitch, and his wife, Anita and Angela Kay Leitch Bratton, and her husband, David; her grandchildren, Emma, and her husband Seth, Jennifer, Dylan, Jerry, and Nicole; and her great-grandchildren, Alana, Aria, Chase, Dallas, Hayden, Liam, and Nova; many nieces and nephews; and her ex-husband and friend, Gary Botkin.

She retired from Western State Hospital after many years of service.  She was a longtime member of Springhill Presbyterian Church. 

Ginger's journey on this earth was marked by her passions for reading, her beloved cats, spending time with family and engaging in delightful shopping adventures alongside her dear friend Joyce Varner. Her warm presence and joyful spirit will be sorely missed not only by her family but also by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence touched the lives of many and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. We will forever miss her beautiful smile.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Reverend Todd Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton.
