Ava Ann Cloonan

Ava Ann Cloonan gained her angel wings on October 18, 2022 surrounded by her family. Ava’s passing was tragic and unexpected.

Ava was born on December 2, 2020 at 1:04 PM, just two minutes before her twin brother at Augusta Health. Ava got to spend twenty-three beautiful months with us - that will not be forgotten.

Ava was the sweetest, funniest, and smartest little girl you could ever meet. Her big smile and contagious laugh was the first thing you would notice. She loved her Bubba and sissys and was the biggest mommy’s girl. Everywhere Ava went, her two blankets, unicorn, and BB had to go also. She has touched so many lives and her memory will never fade.

Ava is greeted in Heaven by her four great-grandparents, Papa Bucky Buchanan, Papa Charlie and Mama Sara Lamb, and her granddad, Quinlyn Dofflemeyer; her aunt, Sarah; and her cousin, Trisha.

Ava is survived by her mommy and daddy, Matthew Cloonan and Ashley Kellogg; her two sisters, McKinley and Havyn Cloonan; her twin brother, Asher “Bubba” Cloonan; her grandparents, Mama Ann and Papa Tommy Kellogg and Mawmaw Terry and Pawpaw Steve Cloonan; her two great-grandmas, Mama Judy Buchanan and Gigi Pat Dofflemeyer; her Uncle Clint and Aunt Veronica Cloonan; and many other great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. Ava is also survived by some very special friends of the family and of sweet Ava, Chris and Tori VIncent; Sarah Farley; and Ashlyn Henderson.

The Cloonan Family would like to extend a special thank you for the fire and rescue teams who worked so hard to try and save her life, as well as the Augusta County Sheriff’s Department. They would also like to thank the community for all the love and support that they have shown for Ava and the family during this difficult time.

To honor Ava’s life, the family will receive friends and family at Henry Funeral Home from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel with Derek Almarode officiating. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro. The family will continue to receive visitors at their home following the funeral services.
