Barbara F. Dively

Barbara Ann Fravel Dively, 62, of Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

She was born on February 5, 1962, in Staunton, to the late Vyven Anthony Fravel and Velma Frances Knight Moyers.

Throughout her career, Barbara showcased her cooking skills and passion for service at Armstrong's Restaurant in Verona, as well as at the Club at Ironwood in Staunton. Her dedication to her work highlighted her love for catering, which also extended into her personal life, where she found joy in creating memorable experiences around food.

Barbara had a zest for life that was evident in her hobbies and interests. She loved spending time outdoors, engaging in activities such as camping, fishing, and gardening. Her affinity for nature was complemented by her fondness for trips to the beach, where she relished the sun and surf with friends and family.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, William Cody Dively and Michael Wayne Dively and Melinda; her grandsons, Gavin and Ayden Dively; her brother, John Preston Johnson; her sister, Brenda Johnson Arehart and husband, Carey; her uncles, Jerrel "JT" Knight and his wife, Debbie and Glenville "Lucky" Knight and Joyce; her aunt, Shirley Knight Hagy; her nieces, Michelle Arehart Yeago and her husband, Jeremy and April Johnson; her nephew, Jason Arehart; and numerous cousins. In addition to her family, she is remembered fondly by her special friends, Lewis Georganzis, Lyle Vines, and Reshonda Harris and members of both local Moose Lodges.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Dively; her stepfather, Herbert "Herb" Hoover Moyers, Sr.; her uncles, Charles Edward Knight, Carl "Buck" Lee Knight, and James "Jimmy" Orville Knight; her aunt, Betty Marie Knight Wagner; and her nephew, Aaron Johnson.

A memorial service to honor Barbara's life will take place at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.
