Barbara L. Garrison

Barbara Lee Garrison, 84, entered into Glory on Sunday, September 8, 2024, in Fishersville surrounded by family.

She was born on July 24, 1940, in Staunton, to the late Ollie and Pearl Viola Garrison.

Barbara’s career spanned an impressive thirty-four years at Wayn-Tex, where she worked in the security department. She also proudly served her country in the US Army for two and a half years, reaching the rank of sergeant.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Barbara was a lifetime member of the Waynesboro First Aid Crew and Pegasus.

She was an avid animal lover and had a special love, particularly for dogs. She was also an enthusiastic traveler, exploring thirty states throughout her lifetime.

She was committed to her Christian faith, having accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. 

She is survived by her brother, Sherman D. Garrison, several other beloved family members and special friends from her church family and from the VA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Shelly Kelly.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 20th, 2024, at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Barry Creasy officiating.
