Betty Marie Bryant Roberts, 76, of Montebello, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at her residence.
Betty was born on August 16, 1948, in Nelson County, to the Melvin Zirkle and Lois Bradley Bryant.
Throughout her life, Betty embraced various roles, working smaller jobs, including Premier Sewing and as a cook at Whetstone Ridge restaurant and Wilco. However, it was in the cherished role of a homemaker where she found her utmost joy.
Betty's home was a sanctuary, where she could often be found gardening, canning, talking on the phone with family and friends, and caring for her loved ones. Every Spring, she eagerly anticipated the return of the hummingbirds.
Outside of her work life and hobbies, Betty was an active member at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Vesuvius.
Betty leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories by her surviving family, her four children, Gregory Roberts(Crystal), Teresa “Missy” Weeks (Tony), Melinda Campbell, and David Bryant; her six grandchildren, Trevor and Austin Roberts, Jessica Hildebrand, Matthew Weeks, and Leanna and Nathan Campbell; her three great grandchildren, Bryce and Cameron Hildebrand, and Walker Roberts; her two sisters, Phyllis Myrtle and Francis Rowe; her sister-in-law, Doris Bryant; a very special pet, Delilah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Lester Hobert Roberts, whom she has longed to join daily since his passing four months ago; her six brothers, Glen, Edger, Windell, Milton, Robert “Bobby” and Gorman Bryant; her sister, Christine Bryant; and her son-in-law, Jeremy Campbell.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Vesuvius, with Pastor Billy Coffey and Fred Salmons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM.
Interment will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Trevor Roberts, Austin Roberts, Nathan Campbell, Matthew Weeks, Ricky Bryant, Douglas Bryant, Phillip Myrtle, and Michael Kegley.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.
Following the service the church will be providing a meal located in the basement of the church.
