Betty L. Conn

Betty Lou Shaver Conn, 73, passed away on Saturday March 30, 2024, at her residence in Mount Sidney.

She was born on September 18, 1950, in Harrisonburg to the late Orvie Marvin Shaver, Sr. and Louise Virginia Hanger Shaver.

She attended the Lebanon Church of the Brethren and Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed sewing, spending time with family and attending her grandchildren’s activities. 

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth Ray Conn; her daughter, Vicky Ann Conn Powers, and her husband, Douglas; a brother, Buddy Lee Shaver and his wife, Ellen; a stepbrother, Frank Eugene Michael; her grandchildren, Emily and William Powers; a sister-in-law, Patricia Shaver; a special cousin, Janie Masincupp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Robert Shaver, Orvie Marvin Shaver and Athel Furr; a sister, Virginia Lucille Shaver; a step- sister, Alma Lee Michael Gilbert; two step-brothers, John William and Robert Calvin Michael; as well as her step mother, Ethel Batton Michael Shaver.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Edgewood Cemetery (4517 Rockfish Road Grottoes, Virginia 24441), with the Reverend Russell Heinrich officiating.
