Betty Lou C. Wymer

Betty Lou Cason Wymer, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

She was born on August 20, 1937, in Augusta County to the late Crawford Franklin Cason and Hazel Josephine Benson Clatterbaugh.

Betty worked as a cashier at Kroger in Staunton until her retirement in 1999.

Betty's life was marked by her faith and community involvement. She was an active member of Verona United Methodist Church, where she found solace and strength in her spirituality. Additionally, she enjoyed engaging in various hobbies such as reading, playing bingo, and solving puzzles - with Solitaire being a personal favorite. Betty also contributed greatly to her community as a member of the Red Hat Society and Elliott's Knob Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 680.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Carol Virginia Wymer Hardin; her grandchildren, Carrie (Mikey) Little and Michael Hardin; her precious great-grandchildren, Cooper and Cohen Little and Peyton and Evanne Hardin; her sister, Linda Darlene Cason Johnson; and her half-brothers, Richard Allan Clatterbaugh (Anne Good) and James Edward (Marian) Clatterbaugh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Edward Wymer; her sister, Peggy Ann Cason Tutwiler; her brother, Ken Austin Cason, Sr.; her half-brother, Dennis Lee Clatterbaugh; and her half-sister, Doris Jean Clatterbaugh.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM.

Interment at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) in Betty’s memory.
