Rejoice in the Lord! Betty Lou (Aker) Snyder, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 31, 2022 in Lecanto, FL.
Betty was born on May 26, 1933 in McDowell, Virginia to the late Brook Hick Aker and Ethel Mae (Eanes) Aker.
She retired from the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind as an office coordinator in the Student Life Office. In this position, she loved being able to use her sign language skills with the students.
Betty loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved sewing, knitting, and feeding birds.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Debra Kay (Snyder) Leo and son-in-law, Stephen V. Leo; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Brooke Weeks; and great-grandchildren, Landon Michael Weeks, Clara Faith Weeks, Ella Grace Weeks and Oliver Joshua Weeks.
She was interred at Thornrose Cemetery.
