Bobby Lewis Rhodes was born in Raphine Virginia In 1937 to Melvin and Katherine Rhodes. He was the 2nd eldest of three brothers, Melvin Rhodes Junior and William Rhodes, all preceding him in passing. God called for him in the early morning hours of the 25th of March. In his mid teens Bobby left his home town and began 23 years of service in the United States Navy. Bobby’s determination and work ethic propelled him through the ranks to the role of Chief First Class Petty Officer.
After his retirement from the military he returned to the Shenandoah Valley and took a position at American Safety Razor where he continued the work ethic he fostered throughout his career in the Navy and he enjoyed many friendships there. He liked fishing and nature programs. Bobby is also preceded in Passing by his wife Mildred Bates Rhodes and their daughter Cynthia Ann Rhodes. He is survived by his Granddaughter Sia Kai Mildred Rhodes, His Great Grandchild, and his son Robert L Rhodes and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Daniel Darrikhuma.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the chapel service in the funeral home.
