Bonnie Jean Runion

BONNIE B. RUNION STAUNTON, VA Bonnie Jean (Benson) Runion, 77, widow of Herman Lee "Joe" Runion, of 312 Ridge Road, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Avante of Waynesboro. She was born June 16, 1934, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Ottobine P. and Georgia (Strickler) Benson. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Runion was employed in the cafeteria at Verona Elementary School. She was a member of Four Square Full Gospel Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Elmer, Herman, Preston, Jesse, Bernard, and Dickie Benson; and six sisters, Hazel Clatterbaugh, Mamie Woods, Ruby Riddle, Lucille Forcum, Nellie Ellinger, and Dorothy Cason. Family members include a son, Jerry Runion of Fishersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Ralph Leitch, Jr. three sisters, Clara Howdyshell, Ruth Lotts, and Georgie Belle Clark; two grandchildren Melissa Nofflet and Bryan Runion ; and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2011 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Brandon Carter. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be James Bell, Kermit Howdyshell, Scott Yeago, Lawrence Yarabough, Roger Perry, and Richard Lotts.
