Brenda V. Stonesifer

Brenda Katherine Vette Stonesifer, 76, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

She was born on March 8, 1947, in Staunton to the late Joseph Leon and Montrose Rebecca Tucker Vette.

Brenda had a fulfilling career as an eligibility worker with Augusta County Social Services. She was known for her dedication and compassion in assisting those in need. Brenda retired from her position after many years of service, leaving behind a lasting impact on both her colleagues and the individuals she helped.

She was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School and the Jefferson School of Business.

She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she nurtured her spiritual life alongside a loving community. Additionally, Brenda had an extraordinary talent for quilting and was proud to be a member of the local quilting guild. She generously shared her beautifully crafted quilts with others who appreciated them as works of art and as symbols of warmth and comfort.

She is survived by her daughter, Adair Katherine Stonesifer Fox and her husband, John; her son, Reid Stonesifer and his wife, Alejandra; and her grandchildren, Shennan, Raquel, and Alexander Stonesifer, Claire Griffin, Anna and William Fox.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Donald Reid Stonesifer, Jr., her brother, Charles Henry Vette; and her sister, Patricia "Pat" Ann Vette Martin. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. A funeral service will follow the next day, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the same location. The service will commence at 10:00 AM with the Reverend Tim Bohlmann officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Reid Stonesifer, Tony Martin, Troy Hagwood, John Fox, Craig Stonesifer II, and Jaimie Booth.
