Brenda Kay (Gibbs) Stover, 69, widow of Fred Nelson Stover, passed away on August 14, 2022 at Brookdale Assisted Living.

Brenda was born on April 12, 1953 in Staunton to the late Howard, Jr. and Stella (Maybush) Sharp.

She enjoyed her travels with her husband during his Air Force career. She was a phenomenal gardener and a good cook.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Renee Stover of Waynesboro, VA; her sisters, Wanda Anderson (Curtis) of Blackduck, MN, Patricia Koiner (Billy) of Swoope, VA, and Carolyn Crosby of Churchville, VA; her brother, Bud Sharp (Patty) of Verona, VA; and her special friend and caregiver, Sherri Langford.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Gibbs, and her sister, Susan Jones.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Jonathan Greer. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Wells, Sherri Langford, Timothy Wimer, Doug Huffman, Ryan Crosby, and Matt Johnston.
