Brian Zackary DeWitt, 56, died on August 16, 2021 at Augusta Health.
He was born on October 20, 1964 in Waynesboro, a son to Glenda K. (Simmers) DeWitt and the late Lewis C. DeWitt Jr.
He was a retired electrician.
Brian’s love of music was channeled through his drum performances and his ear for composition. Brian’s impeccable sense of humor was shared through his great stories. His adoration of Evel and Robbie Knievel was expressed through his love for motocross racing. His personality was reflected by his fascination with UFOs and other unexplained anomalies.
Surviving family members include a son, Zachary Dale DeWitt; a brother Denver DeWitt; two sisters, Shannon DeWitt and Donna DeWitt; an uncle Dennis W. Simmers; nieces, LeAnn DeWitt, Chloe Divers, and Samantha Gray; an aunt Lavonne Cauthen; and numerous cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Lewis C. DeWitt Sr., Rose H. DeWitt, and Kathleen T. Simmers; and uncles, Kenneth Simmers and Carl Simmers.
A gathering will be at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. All are invited to a time of live music and remembrances in the chapel at 6:30 PM.
