Candy Lavonne Brooks, 63, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
She was born on September 24, 1961, in Staunton to the late James “Snap” Kennan Brooks and Shirley Ann Caricofe.
Candy, a proud veteran, served her country in the Army, where she worked as a diesel mechanic.
Beyond her military accomplishments, Candy embraced her many talents and interests. She was an avid Crocheter and enjoyed cross-stitching. Her artistic spirit was matched only by her love of watching soap operas.
Above all, she cherished being a grandmother. The love she felt for her grandchildren was evident in everything she did, being a source of unconditional support in their lives. She will fondly be remembered for her dedication, creativity and the love she shared with her family.
She is survived by her son, Charles Brooks; her daughter in-law, Michelle Brooks, her daughter, Cassandra Brooks; her brothers, Charles Truslow, David, Robert and Dale Brooks; her sisters, Kelly and Karen Brooks, and her two grandsons; Logan Anthony and Charles James Brooks
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Judy Brooks Brown, and her granddaughter, Raven Diana Ivy Pritt.
A memorial service to honor the life of Candy will be announced at a later date.
