Catherine Callahan Tinsley

CATHERINE C. TINSLEY STAUNTON, VA Catherine (Callahan) Tinsley, 79, widow of William Franklin Tinsley, Sr., of 128 Greenview Drive, died Friday, April 22, 2011, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born December 10, 1931,in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Rommelt) Callahan. Mrs. Tinsley was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters; two brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Diane Tinsley. Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William F., Jr., Butch and Liz Tinsley of Staunton and Christopher R. Bud Tinsley of South Boston, MA; a daughter, Karen (Tinsley) Johnson of Staunton; a brother, Richard Callahan of Georgia; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Monsignor Andrew Cassin. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
