CHARLOTTE M. GRIMES STAUNTON, VA Charlotte Ralston (McDorman) Grimes, 93, widow of Robert Lee Grimes of 115 Beverley Court, died Friday, June 10, 2011 at King's Daughter's Health and Rehab Center. She was born October 13, 1917 in Hinton, Va., a daughter of the late Winfield Leggett and Ollie Virginia (Smith) McDorman. Mrs. Grimes was a homemaker and member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband of sixty-nine years who died July 24, 2010, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bud, Jim, and Lynwood McDorman and two sisters, Jean Howdyshell and Nancy Arey. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert D. and Gudrun Grimes; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis G. and Jim Brown, all of Staunton; two grandchildren, Jeff Brown and his wife, Stacey and Melissa D. Wenger and her husband, Nathan; three great grandchildren, Connor B. Brown, Carly L. Brown, and Keaton J. Wenger; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Rosalee McDorman and Carl and Sandy McDorman, all of Hinton; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Glenna and Clarence Simmons and June McDorman, all of Hinton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Robert W. Sharp. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Gary Kennedy, Bob Brown, Keith Brown, Jeff Brown, Nathan Wenger, and Al McDorman. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2001 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Phyllis and Jim Brown, 105 Midvale Crossing, Staunton.
