Cheryl Kay Niuman, 77, of Staunton, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at River Edge Rehabilitation and Nursing in Waynesboro.

Cheryl was born on October 13, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank and Miriam (Lautzenheiser) Niuman. 

She graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1965 and then went on to graduate from Tennessee Temple University in 1969, with an Elementary Education degree. Cheryl worked for several years as a Christian School teacher and then for Sears in customer service. She also worked for many years as an Information Technologist for nTelos then as an insurance agent with Primerica.

She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft. Cheryl enjoyed traveling and visited numerous places around the world. She had a great love for frogs and had acquired quite the collection of fun and unique pieces. She was very active in her local coin club. Cheryl had a deep love for her cats Gato, Rolly, and Molly. Cheryl never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. She was greatly loved by all her family and friends.

Cheryl is survived by her siblings, Charles (Karen) Niuman of Illinois, Janice (Jim) Miller Batt of Florida, Virginia (Bob) Hill of Mississippi, and James Niuman of Ohio. She had twenty nieces and nephews, sixty-six great-nieces and nephews, and several great-great-nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bob Miller; her sister-in-law, Pamela Niuman; and her nephew, James David Miller.

Per Cheryl's wishes, there will be no services.
