Claude R. Michael

Claude Raymond Michael, 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fishersville.

He was born on October 1, 1959, in Staunton to the late Weldon Wright and Betty Ann Katherine Driver Michael.

Claude dedicated over twenty years of his professional life to Moore Brothers where he was known for his hard work and dedication. A proud member of the Verona Moose Lodge 2172, he found joy in the fellowship, making lasting memories and friends through the years. In his leisure time Claude enjoyed sailing, collecting NASCAR model cars and listening to music.

He is survived by his two children, Travis Shifflett (Ashley) of Swoope and Patricia Ann Michael (John) of Staunton; his grandchildren, Jackson and Erinn Shifflett, both of Swoope; his brothers, Larry Wright Michael (Vickey) and Weldon Thomas Michael (Maryann); his sisters, Nedra Michael, Dana Kay Meredith, Tina Dawn Michael, and Tammy Sue Hogle; and a special niece, Destiny Armstrong.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Michael and his sister, Sharon Diane Armstrong.

Per his wishes, he was cremated. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Travis Shifflett, Claude’s son, will receive friends and family at his residence in Swoope.
