Connie Louise Gordon, 70, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her residence in Fishersville, Virginia.
She was born on March 31, 1954, in Maryland to the late Chester Huntington Gordon and Helen Louise Hand Gordon.
Connie proudly achieved her Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech then pursued her academics even further receiving her Master’s degree from the University of Virginia. An active member of the Church of Christ in Waynesboro, Connie’s faith was central to her life. She also found joy in service and was regularly involved with the American Red Cross serving as a volunteer.
Her Scottish heritage was a source of pride, and she delighted in Scottish country dancing, where she could celebrate her ancestry and connect with others through music.
Connie was an avid traveler, and she would continuously seek new experiences. In addition to her adventurous spirit, she had a passion for tennis, and she particularly enjoyed sewing and crafts and maintained a keen interest in genealogy, exploring the rich tapestry of her family history.
Growing up in Maryland and later embracing life in the stunning Shenandoah Valley, Connie had a deep love and appreciation for all the beauty that the Shenandoah Valley offered.
She is survived by her sister, Cynthia Fry; her nieces, Amanda Gordon, Briana, Emily Cherry and Cassie Eklund; and her five great nieces.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Allen John Gordon.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Church of Christ in Waynesboro.
