Dallin R. Carter

Dallin Ray Carter, 74, husband of Judith Anne Bryant Carter, went to be with his Lord, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Dallin was born on May 13, 1949 in Hot Springs, a son of the late Ray Dilling and Goldie Mae Roberts Carter.

He was a graduate of Millboro High School and in 1993 retired as a food service assistant manager after nearly thirty years of employment with Western State in Staunton.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved his truck. He also enjoyed wrestling, hunting and fishing, and his pet birds.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Treva Mae Carter Marshall and her husband, Rusty; his brother, Edward “Eddie” Cleveland Carter and his wife, Nancy; his nephew, Jason Carter and his wife, April; his niece, Shawna Armstrong and her husband, David; great nieces and nephews, Dillin, Brayden, Cheyenne, Jacob, and Rachael; and his grandchildren, Brandon Edward Mauzy, Devin Ray Mauzy, and Kenzie Dean.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Fifth Street United Church of the Brethren in Staunton with Pastors Rusty Marshall and George Etling officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Don Carter, Jason Carter, Dillin Armstrong, Brayden Armstrong, Gary Helmick, and D.W. Carter.
