DEWEY L. TRAINUM STAUNTON, VA Dewey Lee Trainum, 83, widower of Dorothy Dawn (Day) Trainum died Monday, September 12, 2011 at UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville. He was born September 25, 1927 in Fordwick, a son of the late Ira Dewey and Nell (Ashby) Trainum. Mr. Trainum was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1944. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during WWII, stationed in Greenland. He retired from VDOT as Assistant Resident Engineer with 43 years of service. His wife of 52 years preceded him in death in 2002. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Crute and a brother, Donald Trainum. Family members include children, Scott and Jeannie Trainum of Williamsburg and David and Bess Trainum of Verona; two daughters, Donna K. and Doug Griffin of Durham, NC and Beth Trainum and Janly Jaggard of Staunton; a sister, Irene Vargo; grandchildren, Bryan, Brent, and Brooke Trainum, Eric and Michael Griffin, Claire, Maggie and Libby Trainum, Kate Adams and Lauren Rosario, and Jason Calhoun; great grandchildren, Liam, Xander, Brecken, Jackson, Lacy, Rowan, and Oren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1614 W.
