Donald Lee Gartzke

DONALD L. GARTZKE STAUNTON, VA Donald Lee Gartzke, 87, husband of Juanita H. (Gough) Gartzke, of 1900 Hillsmere Lane, died Monday, October 10, 2011, at Emeritus of Staunton. He was born March 20, 1924, in Oostburg, Wisconsin a son of the late Leo L. and Ethel (Herbert) Gartzke. Prior to retirement, Mr. Gartzke was employed by Singer Furniture Company. In addition to his wife of 64 years, family members include a daughter, Deborah Anne Gartzke of Staunton and her companion, Robert M. "Marty" Harper, Jr., of Naples, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Pastors Kevin Mark and Melinda (Armstrong) Gartzke of Weyers Cave; four grandchildren, Nathanael, Caleb, Faith, and Ethan Luke of Weyers Cave; a half-brother, Jon Gartzke; and two grandkitties, Orange Man and Squad Car. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jim Langlois. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, in the funeral home.
