Donald "Skip" Webster Jordan, 77, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at his residence in Augusta County.
He was born on May 17, 1946, in Staunton to the late Daniel Webster Jordan and Elnora "Ellie" Snead Jordan Wimmer.
Skip worked as a forklift operator at Daikin Applied in Verona.
A proud veteran, Skip served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps as a K-9 handler for his infantry unit. His military service exemplified his commitment to duty and country.
In his free time, Skip was a member of Staunton's American Legion Post 13. He also enjoyed his time socializing with fellow members of the "Bojangles Breakfast Club," where he formed many friendships.
One of Skip’s passions was gardening. His garden was a testament to his love for nature and the outdoors. Additionally, he adored his furry companion, his dog Dolly, who brought him endless joy and companionship.
Skip is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Dorothy Lee Craig Jordan. He is also survived by his daughters, Tina Jane Jordan and Tonya Faye Jordan Staley, and her husband, Chris; his four grandchildren, Bradley Cole Jordan and his wife, Chelsea, Amanda Jordan Brown, Emma Paige Staley, and Garrett Allen Staley; and numerous cousins.
A graveside service with military rites will be held to honor and celebrate Skip’s life on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton with the Reverend Stephen Wolcott officiating.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that those desiring may make memorial contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
