Edith Isabelle “Izzy” (Phillips) Wood, 84, widow of Mr. Chesley Hugh Wood, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 in Augusta Health.
She was born on February 4, 1937 in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Everette and Nellie Virginia (Bryant) Phillips.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Wood was an LPN at Kings Daughters Hospital and Augusta Health in the operating room.
She is survived by a son Bruce Wood (Jeanette); four grandchildren, Jeff Wood (Cindy), Randy Wood (Mia), Justin Wood, and Bryan Spreckelsen (Cynthia); four great grandchildren, Kirsten, Naomi, Bryson and Colton; and one sister, Geraldine Reed.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Glenn Wood, a grandson, Matthew Wood; a brother, Steven Phillips; and sister, Charlene Mantay.
There will be no services.
Memorial donations my be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 28015.
