Frances C. Britt

Frances “Peggy” Cash Britt, 90, of 54 Imperial Drive in Staunton, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025, at her home in Birch Ridge Senior Living (Royal Care) in Staunton.

She was born on June 2, 1934, in Fishersville, daughter of the late Charles Alson and Alice Bryant Cash.

Peggy was a member of Zetta Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker, devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend. Peggy was her mother’s caregiver for many years. She and her husband, Bobby, also loved and cared for their nieces and nephews as if they were their own, opening their home for many families, meals and gatherings.

Peggy is survived by her nephew and caregiver, Mike Cash; her sisters-in-law, Gladys (Buck) Cash and Lillie (Harold) Cash; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bobby” Stuart Britt of fifty-three years; her six brothers, Charles “Buck” Calvin, Nelson “Nickel” Roosevelt, Roy Leach, Ray Kennan, Benjamin “Benny” Franklin, and Harold Alexander Cash, Sr.; her sister, Elaine Grace Cash Britt; her special friend, Viola Dudley; and her special nephew, Gary Cash.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the residence of her nephew (351 Cider Mill Road, Mt.Sidney, VA).

A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor Stan Farthing officiating.

Interment will follow at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Staunton.

The family will gather for a meal at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the residence of her nephew (351 Cider Mill Road, Mt. Sidney, VA).

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews in attendance.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Birch Ridge Senior Living and Gentiva Hospice, they loved her well.
