Frances Elizabeth Johnson

FRANCES K. JOHNSON STAUNTON, VA Frances Elizabeth (Keeling) Johnson, 87, widow of James Moses Johnson of 107 West Hampton Street, Staunton, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1924 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Veney) Keeling. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Johnson was employed by Western State Hospital for 27 years. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marcus Keeling, and a grandson, Michael Lynn Johnson, Jr. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Lynn and Elizabeth Johnson of Staunton; a daughter, Nance Lee Keeling of Phoeniz, AR; two grandchildren, Angela Marie Johnson of Norfolk and Orlando Maurice Johnson; and a great granddaughter, Hailey Renee McLear. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in Thornrose Cemetery by Rev. Michale Turner. The family will receive friends anytime at her residence and also the residence of her son, at 632 Grubert Avenue, Staunton.
