Grover Cleveland Vest, Jr.

GROVER C. VEST, JR. STAUNTON - Grover Cleveland "Bucky" Vest, Jr., 79, husband of Shirley (Garris) Vest of 1016 Baylor Street, died at 10:25 p.m. on Saturday (August 13, 2011) at his residence. He was born December 6, 1931 in Staunton, son of the late Grover Cleveland, Sr. and Helen (Hevener) Vest. He retired after forty years with Genesco L Grief Company. Mr. Vest was a member of Cherryvale United Methodist Church and the B. P. O. E. Staunton Lodge #351. In addition to his wife of fifty-four years, survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Cara Vest of Hamilton, VA and Rob and Deidre Vest of Hilton Head, SC; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Harlene Vest of Staunton; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bubby Bosserman of Staunton; four grandchildren, Nicole Vest, Kellee Vest, Jonah Vest, and Gabrielle Vest; and sister-in-law, Kathy Garris of Staunton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (August 16, 2011) in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. DeBorah F. Barnwell. Interment will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dale Powers, D. J. Buchanan, David Fridley, and Todd Robson. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Vest and Members of Elks Lodge #351.
