HATTIE R. EARHART STUARTS DRAFT, VA Hattie Ray (Vest) Earhart, 81, of 201 Dodge Street, Stuarts Draft, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born May 19, 1930 in Spottswood, a daughter of the late Herman and Susie (Noel) Vest. Prior to retirement, Ms. Earhart was employed by Western State Hospital. She was a member of Crimora United Methodist Church. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey L and Alice R. Earhart of Stuarts Draft; three daughters, Donna K. Earhart of Waynesboro, Sharon E. Coffey of Crimora, and Deborah R. Shiflett of Staunton; a brother, Willy Vest of Waynesboro; two sisters, Anne Ramsey and Margaret Davis, both of Waynesboro; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by two sons, Henry L. and Percy E. Earhart; a brother, John Vest; and a sister, Louise Ramsey. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bruce Hankee. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Gary Ingram, Thomas Johnson, III, Gerald Shiflett, Darrell Shiflett, Travis Shiflett, and Gary Houghtaling. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. today, Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the funeral home.
