Helen Marie Schnell Stewart, widow of Robert S. Stewart, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday morning, November 27, 2022.
She was born on August 3, 1929 in Bruin, PA, a daughter of the late Josiah Neyman and Minnie Margaret Sumney Schnell.
She was a member of the Staunton Orthodox Presbyterian Church and was a past member of the Hostess Committee of the church. Foremost in her life were her church and family. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crafts.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey S. of Staunton, and David K. of Arizona; her grandchildren, Joshua Stewart of Staunton and Michelle Snider of Colorado, and Shaye, Cameron, and Anjelica Stewart of Arizona; two sisters, Maxine Craig of Chicora, PA and Mary Jo Maurhoff of Petrolia, PA; and five brothers, Ralph, Lee, James, and Larry Schnell of PA and Dennis Schnell of Georgia; a number of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Edmonds, two brothers, Earl and Dean Schnell; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Stewart.
Friends will be received from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Henry Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ethan W. Allison officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
