Hildegard B. Maher

Surrounded by family, Hildegard Maher, 91, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.

She was born in Konstaz, Germany on January 31, 1933, to the late Berta Maria and Obergfreiter Hermann Becker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy” Maher Jr.; a son, Robert P. Rosano; a brother, Otto Becker; and a step- granddaughter, Jessica Nickerson.

Hildegard will always be remembered for her love of gardening and gourmet German cooking.

Hildegard is survived by her daughter, Lori Rosano; a son, Richard Rosano and his wife, Julie; her grandchildren, Samantha Marella and her husband, CJ and Nicholas Emanuel Rosano; her stepdaughter, Chrissy Nickerson and her husband, Galen; her three step-grandchildren, LeAnn Wimmer, Brandy Polchies and Derek Nickerson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Rejoicing Life Church located in Stuarts Draft, Virginia.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.

The family would like to thank the nurses, CNA’s and all the staff of the Shenandoah Nursing home for the loving care they gave “Oma” during her time with them. Also, Dr. Heck, the staff, and volunteers of the Hospice of the Shenandoah.
