Ilo Ray Crummett

ILO R. CRUMMETT SWOOPE, VA Ilo Ray Crummett, 65, husband of Peggy (Beathe) Crummett, of 659 Hewitt Road, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. He was born January 9, 1946, in Augusta County, a son of the late Bert and Agnes (Edmond) Crummett. Mr. Crummett was a self employed farmer and was also employed by Staunton Union Stock Yards. In addition to his wife, family members include a daughter, Jennifer Crummett; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William Homer and Joyce Crummett of Staunton and Cecil Marion Crummett and his friend, Jeannie, of Harrisonburg; a sister, Lillie Belle Crummett of Staunton; a grandchild, Carey Layman of Swoope; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Franklin Edmond. A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Lynwood Wilkes. Burial will follow in Hebron Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in the funeral home.
