James Harold Glendye

JAMES H. GLENDYE STAUNTON, VA -- Mr. James Harold Glendye, 83, of 797 Cedar Green Road, died Sunday (October 9, 2011) at UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Welcher) Glendye in 2001. He was born June 4, 1928 in Augusta County, son of the late Elbert Marion and Virginia Mary (Campbell) Glendye. Before retiring, Jim was owner of Glendye Fence Company. He is survived by his sister, Thelma E. Baker of Waynesboro; two nieces, Tina Toman and Elaine Bradley; two nephews, Dennis Baker and David Baker; four great nieces, Kristina Dean, Danielle Toman, Tiffany Baker, and Ashley Baker; and a great nephew, Brian Childress. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. George Pohill. Interment will follow in West Augusta Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Childress, Rodney Hurt, Bob Varner, Cecil Campbell, Dennis Baker, Gary Morgan, Tommy Glendye, and Donald Loan.
