JAMES L. LOSH STAUNTON, VA James Lester Losh, 79, widower of Betty Irene (Vess) Losh, of 1102 Stoneburner Street, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at his residence. He was born August 21, 1934, in Augusta County, a son of the late William Lester and Eva Isabelle (Ayers) Losh. Mr. Losh retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a contractor for Jim Walter Homes and Atlantic Aluminum, then founded James Losh Construction. In addition to his wife of 51 years, he was also preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Losh; and a sister, Margie Lynn. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, James L. Jr., and Charity Losh of Dayton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon L. and O. B. Anderson of Staunton and Karen Beard of Fishersville; a sister, Katherine Whisman of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Peggy Yvonne Landes; a brother-in-law, Gary of Greenville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Leigh Anne Losh, Stephanie Dawn Losh, Todd Beard, and Kim Earhart Smith; two step-grandchildren, Cole Thompson and Dylan Thompson; a great grandchild, Remi Yvette Losh; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jim Ferris of Roanoke. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013, in the funeral home and at his home following the service. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O.
