Jessie "Wild Man" Wayne Oyler, Sr., 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, at his residence in Waynesboro.
He was born on December 24, 1944, in Alleghany, a son of the late Jesse Ballard and Dorothy Etta Campbell Oyler.
Jesse worked for nearly 20 years as a truck driver with Connor's in Waynesboro. His commitment and hard work were evident in everything he did, making him a respected individual both personally and professionally.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Virginia Dale Oyler; his son, Jessie "Blue" Wayne Oyler, Jr. and his wife, Dixie; his daughter, Susan Diane Oyler Pugh and her fiancé, Marvin Leathers; his grandchildren, Anthony Charles Pugh, Jr. and his wife, Kaylye, Dorothy Etta Pugh Martin, Destiny Elizabeth Oyler, Gabriella Spring Oyler, and Travis Wayne Sorrells; his great-grandchildren, Braylon Lee Martin, Alyah Haze Pugh Crickenburger, Jaxson Pugh, Sophia Pugh, and Tinleigh Pugh; his brother, Robert Thomas Oyler and his wife, Dawn and their children, Austin and Emily Rice and their son, Wyatt, Laura Rice and her son, Zave Benson, Katie Rice, and Joey Rice; his sister, Barbara Jean Oyler Thompson and her husband, William; and his best friend, John Boy.
