On Friday, November 12th, 2021, John Vance Barr of The Plains, VA was called home to be with the Lord. He was born on August 16, 1981 in Staunton, VA. He is the son of Elaine H. Barr of Staunton, VA and the late John L. Barr. In addition to his mother he is also survived by his twin sister Mary (Kiki) Katherine Pabst and her husband Timothy Pabst of Potomac, MD, his nephew Holden Pabst and niece Charlotte Pabst, both of Potomac, MD. John was a member of Mint Spring United Methodist Church, Mint Spring, VA and an active participant at Grace Episcopal Church, The Plains, VA.
John was an amazing and talented individual. He received his degree in architecture from the University of Virginia and worked for several architecture firms prior to starting his own business, JV Barr Design. He was a patient, caring and loving person who was always willing to help others. John enjoyed antiquing, history, gardening, flowers, and found many ways to express his creativity.
A service will be conducted at Grace Episcopal Church, 6507 Main Street, The Plains, VA 20198 on Friday, November 19th at 11AM. On Sunday, November 21st from 2-5PM a drive through visitation will be held at Mint Spring United Methodist Church, 53 Mint Spring Circle, Staunton, VA 24401. A second service will be conducted at Mint Spring United Methodist Church on Monday, November 22nd at 11AM. For all services and visitation masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced. Memorials can be made to Grace Episcopal Church, P.O. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Thornrose Cemetery.
