JOHN FRANKLIN FISHER WAYNESBORO, VA John Franklin Fisher, 83, husband of Isabelle (Rexrode) Fisher, of Waynesboro died Friday, January 11, 2013, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born July 13, 1929, in Spottswood, a son of the late Roger Martin and Lillie Mae (Buchanan) Fisher. Prior to retirement, Mr. Fisher was a carpenter his entire life. He was a superb craftsman and built many houses in this area. He loved all animals, especially cats and dogs, and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. In addition to his wife, family members include three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Barry Argenbright of Waynesboro, Nancy and Sam Argenbright of Mint Spring, and Susan and David Acord of West Augusta; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Donagrace Fisher of Goshen; a brother, Ruben Fisher of Harrisonburg; three granddaughters, Jill Grimm and husband, Shannon, Elizabeth Fisher, and Tina Hodge and husband, Jamie; four grandsons, Jonathan and Daniel Fisher, Eric Argenbright and wife, Amy, and Jason Argenbright and wife, Kery; six great grandchildren, Taylor and Ava Grimm, Allison Hodge, Kendyl, Kale, and Jake Argenbright; and one to be born February 2013; a special nephew, Larry Thornton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Fisher and Tommie Fisher; three sisters, Lula Fox, Agnes Lotts, and Cecil Fisher; two brothers-in-law, Levi Fox and Wallace Lotts; and a sister-in-law, Dot Fisher. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by George Taylor and Rev. Janet Knott. There will be no public viewing and visitation. Memorials may be made to the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, 1001 Mt. Torrey Road, Lyndhurst, VA 22952 or to Cat's Cradle, 124 South Main Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
