John M. Harrison

STAUNTON - John Michael Harrison, 83, of Staunton passed on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Envoy.
He was born December 6, 1938 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, son of the late Albert J. and Leone (Taylor) Harrison.
Mike graduated from East Tennessee State. He was a chemist for the United States Government before retiring. Prior to that he taught school in Bath, Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties. He was previously married to Johannah Byrd Harrison and they had four children.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Grinde (Steve) and son, David Harrison, both of Woodford, VA, grandchildren Christopher Ward, Kayla Arellano, Cole Grinde and Jackson Grinde. In addition to his family he leaves behind his dearest friend and bridge partner, Barbara Farley.
He was preceded by his son, John Michael Harrison, Jr. and daughter, Sarah Rebecca Harrison.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
