JOHN W. “Mac” FIELDS JR. STAUNTON, VA… John William Massie “Mac” Fields, Jr., 69, of Staunton, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Augusta Health. He was born September 24, 1946, in Staunton, a son of the late John William and Gladys Marie (Michael) Fields. Prior to retirement, he was employed as Mr. Utility by the City of Staunton John was an avid sports fan of the New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He enjoyed Civil War reenactments and loved singing country music. Family members include three sons, Mark Fields, Chris Taylor, and Joshua Fields; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Fields Anderson and Scott Anderson and Stephanie Fields Wilfong and Randy Wilfong; four grandchildren, Drakyn Taylor, Vanessa Braden, Marcia Dwight, and Sara Wilfong; one great grandchild, Eirin Ruth Dwight; two sisters, Linda Tinker and Billy Mae Rowe; nieces and nephews, Kandra Carter, Wendy Staggs, Angel Binder, Bobby Tinker, Mary and Howard Rowe, and Wanda Rowe; and special friends, Jerry Johnson, Clyde Robertson, and his best friend, Deanna Valentine and her husband, Bill. Burial will be private in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home.
