Jonathan Mark King, 56, resident of Staunton went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Augusta Health.
The son of the late Rev. J. E. King and Judy King of Waynesboro.
He was employed at Staunton School of Cosmetology. He was the Praise and Worship Leader at Middlebrook Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Penny King; his three children, Emily J. King, Olivia E. King, and Josiah M. King. His siblings include sister and brother-in-law, Melody King and Chip Mendicino; brother, Scott King and sister, Donna K. Gentry; mother-in-law, Mary Whitesell; in-laws include Shawn and Robin Winn, Davey Whitesell, Greg and Jamie Whitesell; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was also a dad to two special girls that he treated as his own, Gene’e Brown and Alexis Mickens. He was a G-paw to Kamarie and Kemyyla Mickens and Livy Johnson; he was also a special friend to a multitude of more than we could ever name.
The King Family welcomes you with your mask to our home to pay your respects. Monetary contributions are welcome for the care of his children.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Good News Ministries. Masks will be required.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Good News Ministries in Greenville. Masks will be required. Burial will follow at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Greg Whitesell, Shawn Winn, Chip Mendicino, Scotty Byrd, RJ Deacon, David C. Whitesell, and Adam Quesenberry.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, nephews, and family friends present at the service.
