Joy S. Chestnut
Joy (Sivley) Chestnut, 87, widow of Nelson Chestnut, passed away on November 20, 2021 at Augusta Nursing & Rehab.
Mrs. Chestnut was born in Bath County on May 22, 1934 to the late Walter L. and Cornelia (Brinkley) Sivley.
Joy was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Chestnut Atkins (Thomas) and Deana Chestnut Riley (Chester); her grandchildren, Jennifer Leach (Frank), Amber Pullin (Josh), and Dakota Riley; three great grandchildren; nieces, Linda Fleshman and Barbara Kite; nephew, David Puffenbarger; and her special cat, Kiki.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her twin sister, June (Sivley) Puffenbarger.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Henry Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountain Grove Cemetery in Warm Springs, VA.
