Judith B. Raines

Judith Dale Brown Raines, 65, known to her loved ones as "Judy", peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the Augusta Health Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.

She was born on April 29, 1958, in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Robert Harry and Shirley Diane Lehman Brown.

Judy had a passion for her career as a stockbroker associate. She dedicated herself to providing excellent service to her clients and was well respected.

Outside of work, Judy led a fulfilling life filled with various hobbies and interests. She found solace and inspiration as a member of Good News Ministries in Staunton. Her faith played an integral role in her life and gave her strength during challenging times. She also had a beautiful singing voice. She shared this talent by actively participating in the church choir.

One of Judy's beloved pastimes was being an avid E-Bay user. She had a keen eye for finding unique items and enjoyed both buying and selling online. Her collection of yard spinners was truly remarkable; so much so that she became affectionately known as the "Spinner Lady."

She is survived by the love of her life, her loving husband of forty-three years, John Edgar Raines; her brothers, Christopher L. Brown and Matthew Carl Brown; her sisters, Janelle S. Baker and her husband, John, Donna May Sapp, Cheryl Brown Betts, and Lynnette Jean Modlin; her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly; and her sweet dog, Jennifer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Paul Brown.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Good News Ministries in Staunton with Pastor Wanda Myers officiating.
