June J. Hall

June J. Hall, formerly of 200 West Liberty Street, Staunton, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab in Fishersville. She was born on July 28, 1929 in Staunton, and had just celebrated her 94th birthday with family and friends.

June is the daughter of the late Harry H. Hall and Lena Gough Hall. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

June was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard “Bunny” Hall, and a special cousin, Connie Bockstie of Ellicott City, Maryland. June's beloved cat named Rascal has been in heaven waiting for her.

She is survived by two nephews and their wives, Douglas D. Hall and his wife, Karen Eppard Hall and Steven S. Hall and his wife, Ruth Finch Hall. Also, June is survived by two great-nephews and their wives and children, Kevin L. Hall, and his wife, Chrissie Tarullo Hall and their son, Daniel J. Hall and Mark S. Hall, and his wife, Emily Price Hall and their children, Mason S. Hall and Madelyn R. Hall.

June was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church. She worked at Smith's Transfer Corporation for twenty-eight years and Staunton Frozen Foods for five years. Upon her retirement, she was a school crossing guard for eighteen years on the corner of Hampton and Nelson Streets. June was a sports enthusiast all her life and she enjoyed playing basketball. Her favorite pastime was watching sports, especially UVA Men's Basketball, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Orioles, and the Washington Capitals.

June's family would like to thank Hospice of the Shenandoah, Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab, the Linden Heights Church family, and the Senior "Call In" Service with the Staunton Police Department for their friendship and kindness to June.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton with Pastor Luke Smith officiating. Friends will be received at the graveside following the service.
