K. Logan Bean

Kohyl Logan Bean, 35, husband of Emily Faith Bean, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Augusta Health in Fishersville surrounded by his loving family.

Logan was born on November 24, 1987 to Robert Bean, Jr. and Patricia Kathryn Shifflett Gerber.

Logan served with distinction as a sergeant in the United States Army and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (2 times), the Army Achievement Medal (2 times), Army Good Conduct Medal, as well as several other military awards.

Because of his physical injuries sustained in the Army, he became 100% disabled, and became a member of Wounded Warriors Project dedicating himself to help those wounded veterans around him, and with his death became an organ donor so that he could help others have a second chance at life.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his son, Javen Daniel Bean and brothers, Toby Bean, Jason Bean, Evan Bean, and Mark Huffman.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 PM, Friday, December 30, 2022 at Henry Funeral Home.

He will be buried with military honors at a graveside ceremony at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton with Bishop William “Bubba” Creedle officiating.
