Kaswana LaShay Edmonds, 30, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at her residence in Staunton.
Kaswana was born April 6, 1992 in Charlottesville to the Cecil Charles Edmonds and Kimberly Diane Stuart.
She was a 2010 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and attended Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave. She was also a student at Staunton Cosmetology School. She worked for the United Way, as a CNA for Care Advantage, Inc., and at Denny’s Lounge.
She was a member of Mount Salem Baptist Church where she was very active in youth ministry.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, D’amari Amir and Samiyah Lanae Edmonds and Ma’Kinlee Aionna, MaKail Ali, Malachi Lashin, and Ma’laiyah Nanette Majette; her fiancé, Michael Majette; her brother, Kimarion Charles Edmonds; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Whitlock; her aunt and uncle, Charles and Charlene Brown; three great-uncles; 2 great-aunts; her godmother, Marion Oliver: and her future mother-in-law; Stephanie Majette.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Edmonds.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton and at other times at the Brown Residence (514 B Street, Staunton).
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Cemetery in Staunton with the Reverend Byron Woods officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles J. Brown, Jaylin Brown, Charles Durrette, Ricardo Scott, Isaiah Edmonds, John Brown, Ja'iel Hart and Ja'ziem Hart.
