Landon E. Pendleton, 91, departed this life Friday, September 10, 2021. He was born November 6, 1929 in Washington, Pennsylvania to the late Landon and Izetta Pendleton.
He attended Staunton Public Schools, and a veteran of the Korean War. He received A Bronze Star Medal for his heroic actions. He retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia after many years of faithful service.
Landon was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and a member of the Deacon Board. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
Landon is the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Pendleton; wife, Dorothy J. Pendleton; and daughter, Landanese P. Jackson.
He is survived by the mother of his three children Virginia Pendleton Perry; two sons, Eugene (Deborah) and Frank Pendleton; 4 grandchildren, Marcus, Adam, and Maya Pendleton, Ayana Jackson; 2 great grandchildren Riley and Hayes Pendleton; cousin Vince Pendleton (Roslyn) and devoted cousin and constant support Harry Buster.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 A. M. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Oaklawn Cemetery, officiated by the Reverend Michael Turner.
