Larry D. Wills

Larry Douglas Wills, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at his residence in Staunton. 

He was born on April 29, 1949, in Augusta County, to the late Clyde Miller and Madeline "Tiny" Lucille Armstrong Wills.

Larry was a dedicated insurance agent with Nationwide, a profession he committed to for over thirty-five years. His respect and understanding in the field earned him the trust and admiration of many clients, who appreciated his unwavering dedication and expertise.

In addition to his successful career, Larry was deeply involved in his community and faith. He was an active member of Annex Fellowship Church in Staunton. His love for sports was evident, as he enjoyed coaching little league and was known as an avid softball player and bowler. A true outdoorsman at heart, Larry took great joy in working in his garden, always finding peace in the natural beauty that surrounded him.

Larry’s commitment to helping others was further exemplified through his long-standing membership in the Barren Ridge-Annex Ruritan Club, where he participated in service and fellowship alongside friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Marian Meyers Wills; his daughter, Kimberley Beth Wills; his son, Larry David Wills and his wife, Vera and their children, Charles and Grady; and his sister, Linda Ann Wills Lane and her husband, Johnny.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Donna "Cookie" Kay Wills Kosak.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Annex Fellowship Church in Staunton with the Reverend Russell Heinrich officiating.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial donations be made to Annex Fellowship Church (1570 New Hope Road, Staunton, VA 24401).
