Linda U. Landes

Linda Kay Utt Landes, 75, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Staunton Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton, surrounded by family. 

She was born on September 5, 1948, in Fayette County, WV to the late William Jennings Utt and Violet LeMasters Allen.

Throughout her career as a devoted school bus driver for the Augusta County Public School System for over thirty years, Linda touched the lives of many students with her dedication and kindness as she safely transported them to and from school, games, and activities. Her commitment to her work was truly admirable and left a lasting impact on the community she served.

Apart from her professional life, Linda's true joys were found in her faith as a member of Greenville Baptist Church and in the love she shared with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, bringing her immense happiness and fulfillment.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her brothers Jimmie Joe and Jerry Cleveland Utt, and her daughter, Mary Beth Landes Hanger. 

She leaves behind cherished memories for her surviving family: a son, James "Jimmy" Wilson Landes and his wife Pam; her grandchildren, Kayla Landes Mick and her husband, Hayden, James Chase Landes, and Savanna Brooke Hanger; as well as her great-grandchildren, Amelia Grace and Annalise Faith Mick and Josiah Donovan Acevedo.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship Cemetery.
