Linda L. Martin

Linda Lee Martin (nee Blohm) died peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, in Staunton, at the age of 78.

She is survived by her husband: Paul Martin; daughters: Claire Shaw and Casey Carlton; son-in-law: Mark Carlton; grandchildren: Hunter and Dylan Carlton and Ian and Keira Shaw; and sisters: Sandy Dahl, Julie Grinolds, and Marcia Ramirez.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sara and her parents, Bob and Shirley Blohm.

Linda was born on October 12, 1944, in East Helena, MT.  The family moved to El Paso, TX, where she graduated from El Paso High School. Linda later attended New Mexico State University and graduated with her degree in Biology.  She fell in love with and married her sailor (Paul Martin) on October 5, 1968, and they were happily married for 54 years. As a couple, they lived in Connecticut, Michigan, Montana, Virginia, Alaska and West Virginia. Linda returned to school later in life and earned her nursing degree (R.N.) at Riverside School of Nursing in Newport News, VA in 1989. She worked for many years in that field; she loved caring for people. Linda and Paul retired to Stanford, MT, and later moved to Staunton, VA to be closer to their family.

Linda was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.  She loved to camp, read, play bridge, crochet, quilt and play piano. She loved to care for her family - one favorite we will all remember is her amazing tacos and enchiladas dinner.

Linda was an organ donor and hopes her body will benefit Alzheimer's research as she suffered from that disease for more than a decade. Linda would be pleased if, in lieu of flowers, you might consider making a donation in her remembrance (Linda Lee Martin) to the Brain Support Network.

Condolences can be sent to Paul Martin and family at 118 Collinswood Dr., Staunton, VA 24401.
